ONE WORLD ADULT SHOW PROGRAM

One World is a one of a kind duo consisting of Chris Merwin and Jim Austin, who have traveled the globe to perform and study music.  One of the things that sets One World apart from typical cover bands is their ability to play for any age group. They are at home with music from all eras and play equally well in all styles, including reggae, calypso, standards, oldies, classic rock, and current hits.

Chris has spent the last twenty-one years studying various instruments such as the guitar, Arabic oud, Hawaiian steel guitar, and the Japanese shakuhachi flute. His travels have taken him to Tibet, Japan, China, Egypt, Hawaii, and many other places. He has performed at the United Nations, for local congressmen, and has made numerous appearances on TV and radio.

Jim is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, equally at home on guitar, drums, and bass. He graduated from N.Y.C.’s High School of Performing Arts and spent three years at Berklee College of Music. Jim has been in the music business for thirty years, both as a solo artist on Columbia Records, and as a sideman for many famous musicians. He has performed all over Asia, South America, Canada, Europe, and the U.S.

In performance One World captivates their audience with their singular mix of covers from all eras, from the 40s to the latest hits. One of One world’s specialties is reggae and calypso, and they can even play Hawaiian music using a real steel guitar, giving any event that tropical vibe. Although they are a duo, they sound like a full band because they use sequenced tracks, which means they have the exact sounds of the drums  and bass guitar pre-recorded. They can also work as a full band, adding steel drum, keyboards, drums, and or bass.
